Captain Ioannis Leonidou is an invaluable member of the PetroMar team, based in Galveston, TX. With over 29 years of experience in both vessel and shoreside operations, including 21 years as a Captain Class A / Unlimited Tanker, 2 years as Port Captain at Swissport handling jet fuels, and 6 years as Marine Superintendent at PetroMar, Captain Ioannis leads with professionalism and expertise in Crude Oil, Fuel Oil, Gas Oil, Diesel Oil, Gasoline, Naphtha, and other oil products.
Fluent in both English and Greek, Captain Ioannis is a quick learner, a multi-tasker, and thrives in high-pressure environments, demonstrating exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Outside of work, Captain Ioannis enjoys hiking, fishing, and reading history. Married to Valbona Lame since 2000, they have a son, Emmanouil, who is currently a sophomore in Finance at Bentley University in Massachusetts. We're proud to have such a dedicated and skilled leader on our team!
